Who are we?
The Alices
At Alice, we don’t take complex challenges at face value. Where others see separate problems, we look for the connections underneath.
As bioscience engineers with years of experience in innovation, food and societal challenges, we bring science, businesses, citizens and other stakeholders around the same table. We look beyond what is technically possible to understand the people, behaviours and systems that ultimately determine whether an innovation will work in the real world.
That means questioning assumptions, looking beneath the surface and digging deeper into what is really going on.
By connecting the dots, we help organisations turn complexity into solutions that are not only innovative, but also relevant, meaningful and workable in practice.
Because real innovation starts with real conversations.
Our Team
Separately we are strong, but together we are Alice!
Bringing people together and creating new possibilities where others see obstacles: that’s what gives Veerle energy.
A natural reframer, she instinctively looks at challenges from a different angle. She believes that every obstacle also holds an opportunity, if you bring the right people together and create the space for new perspectives to emerge.
Her optimism is contagious, but always grounded in a pragmatic approach. Less talking about change, more figuring out what can actually be done and what first step can be taken today.
With a background in bioscience engineering and years of experience in innovation, strategy and business development, she feels equally at home in the boardroom and in a workshop with consumers, researchers or entrepreneurs.
For Veerle, innovation doesn’t start with technology. It starts with people.

Charlotte Boone

Charlotte likes asking questions. Questions that challenge assumptions. Questions that help uncover how the pieces fit together. And questions that reveal how different people see the same issue.
A natural systems thinker, she spots patterns, connections and underlying dynamics where others may see separate problems. Her background in bioscience engineering, combined with experience in research, innovation and the food sector, gives her a strong scientific foundation. But it is her analytical mind and creativity that help her make unexpected connections and turn complex ideas into something others can understand and work with.
She believes the best innovations don’t come from making one discipline smarter in isolation, but from connecting different worlds, perspectives and areas of expertise.
And that always starts with asking the right questions.
With a passion for food, marketing and content creation, Silke brings a strong entrepreneurial and creative perspective to the Alice team.
Over the past ten years, she has built extensive experience across the food sector — from running her own hospitality business and launching a catering company to developing recipes for platforms including njam tv. Along the way, she has built both a broad network and a sharp understanding of what makes food concepts work in practice.
With a Master’s degree in Business Economics, entrepreneurial thinking comes naturally to her. She combines a hands-on mindset with creativity and a strong eye for detail, allowing her to turn ideas into fresh, tangible solutions.
Silke strongly believes in the power of branding and storytelling. It is something she also puts into practice through her own online platforms, where she turns food into engaging, appetising content.
“Just do it” is her entrepreneurial motto. With her infectious enthusiasm and instinct for experience and communication, Silke is Alice’s creative bridge between science and the way people actually see, feel and experience it.

Why ‘Alice down the rabbit hole’?
A flirt towards the fairy tale ‘Alice in Wonderland’. About a girl who ends up in a wonderful world, and cleverly makes her way through the many trials. ‘Down the rabbit hole’ is therefore a referral to a course full of challenges.
We also want to guide you through the, sometimes difficult, path of product development and market introductions. And this by looking at things from a different perspective. Let creativity run free and discover new paths and ideas via other people’s brain twists!
